My sister turned 30 this month and to celebrate another decade of her life, I thought it was only right to treat her to a spa day. And by ‘her’ I mean us (if it’s her birthday present then really my spa day is free – Girl math).
As someone who has visited Brooklands Hotel’s BSpa a few times, I knew it wouldn’t disappoint, but when I heard that they’d recently update their facilities I was SO EXCITED. BSpa has always had a premium feel to it, but has often felt on the small side – probably because it doesn’t have a pool – so these new facilities were a welcomed addition.
Steam Room and Saunas.
Though these are probably seen as your ‘basic’ amenities for a spa, I’m not sure I remember BSpas ever having these before? Whether they did or not, the new ones are unreal. The spa now offers a glass-fronted, white marble steam which feels like the type you see when you select ‘houses over £15 million’ on Rightmove.
Opposite, you have the choice of TWO saunas – the Infrared Sauna and the Traditional Finnish Sauna. Why the different types you may ask? Well they offer different benefits; Infrared Saunas typically operate at a lower temperature (50-60°C) and focus on exercise recovery, muscle soreness and skin health, while Traditional Saunas are a bit hotter (70°C+) and focus on circulation and detoxification.
But don’t be fooled, they are both HOT.

Salt Room and Shower
Whether it’s sprinkled on your morning eggs or plugged into your wall, Himalayan Rock Salt is having a MOMENT. Do I believe in it’s healing qualities? Honestly, I’m not sure. But according the the plaque on the glass door, this is what it’s supposed to do:
“Promotes easier breathing and improves lung conditions such as Bronchitis, asthma, coughs and colds. Lower’s blood pressure and stress levels. Improves skin health including eczema, acne, rashes, dermatitis and aging skin.”
To be honest, on reflection, maybe the village of spots on my face and me should’ve spent more time in here.
Another of the new facilities was the ‘experience shower’. This shower had two settings ‘energy’ and ‘relax’ – the first was more powerful, like your traditional shower and the second was more of a spray effect. While this didn’t blow my mind, I have to say, it looked GREAT and was quite a big sexy shower.
Other Facilities
After we’d checked out the new facilities, we headed on round to the rest of the amenities we’ve enjoyed before. First stop, of course, was the famous Jacuzzi overlooking Mercedes-Benz racetrack. We visited in the middle of August so, naturally, it was pouring with rain and windy af, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they’d added a clear surround around the jacuzzi to protect it from the wind. Yes, we were sitting in a pot of boiling water but it was nice to have some shelter from the elements (God bless a British Summer). Since there is only 1 jacuzzi, it can get busy so just be mindful you’ll probably have to leave to make room for other people.
It is at this point you’ll likely either switch the the sun loungers or, if you’re visiting in Winter, Autumn, Spring or Summer, head inside to the Sunlight Therapy Room.
I love this room, it basically a load of sun loungers with artificial bright lights on you that mimic sunlight without the harmful UV rays. It even has a bar and a tropical beach wallpaper surrounding you, so it gives an all-inclusive Caribbean vibes.

Additional Facilities
The spa does also offer a meditation room with gently heated waterbeds – at an additional cost. I’ve only been in here once (probably the 1 time I wasn’t paying) and honestly… this room is a VIBE. I credit myself as a great napper but this room could have me asleep in 0.5 seconds. I will be implementing this into my house at some point.
Treatments & Afternoon Tea
Can’t lie, I’m not the hardest to impress when it comes to afternoon tea because I am a self-confessed sugar addict BUT I can say I’ve had my fair share of afternoon teas, and this one was a good’un. What I particularly liked was the fact you could chose any drink you like, even an iced coffee to accompany your afternoon ‘tea’.
Massages on the other hand, I am not easy to please. Touch me anywhere below the neck and I will buckaroo you off, I am SO TICKLISH. Hence why I selected a facial when I booked. At least I thought I did…
We were all in the lounge area waiting to be called up for our treatments, and I was the last to be called in. But, when my masseuse came and told me I was down for the full body massage… did I say anything? Of course not (: Knowing that all the other therapists were taken, I didn’t want to cause problems so gulped and went along with it (I know, first world problems).
But wow. Usually, I am counting down the minutes until a full body massage ends but this treatment was… AMAZING?! Shoutout to Kem because he was great, I am converted – I’d definitely recommend asking for him if you can.
